There is something so fun about decorating a nursery. I think because it lets you visualize what your life is about to become. You can picture yourself rocking your baby in the glider, laying them down in their crib, reading them endless stories before bed time. When we were designing the room for our little girl, my imagination let me see all of those events happening in a fun, playful Jungle Safari room where she could spend her time monkeying around. I knew that I wanted to have the walls painted with jungle safari murals and then use little details to tie the whole room together - so that’s what we did!

The murals in this room were done by the same talent that painted R’s mountain mural and E’s jungle wall - Mark Sokolowski. He truly made my vision come to life. For the wall where we have L’s changing table, we have a few monkeys playing on a tree limb and a giraffe keeping on eye on our little one. Having the mural on two walls really takes the room to the next level. After L was born, we had an addition added on that just might be my favorite part! The tree trunk has now because a measuring stick where we can tick off her height as she grows. It’s such a fun personalized touch.

When choosing furniture for L's room, we wanted to go with white to keep the room bright and make sure the furniture could grow with her. We ended up going with the Delta Children Belmont 4-in-1 for her crib. We went with the Jordan changing table from Delta Children as well and opted to leave the legs off it.

We added a small shelf to the side of the changing table that works great for extra diapers, books and little stuffed animals. It's a natural rattan cane shelf from World Market that fits into our Safari style.

This mirror is from World Market as well and while it isn't available any longer, they have a round bamboo woven mirror that is super similar and would go perfect in a Safari themed nursery or any baby room where you like more natural elements.

I DIY'd this bow holder shelf by purchasing a shelf from Amazon and the gluing the white clips onto the bottom of the shelf. I love having a shelf that will be multi purpose - from bows to necklaces to whatever she wants!

A subtle Safari design element is this white piggy bank that rests on L's dresser. My Dad actually found this in a casino gift shop and got it for her as a gift. The sides are painted with a giraffe and zebra! It's such a sweet little touch in her room.

We saw this rocker glider and knew we had to have it, but we had a hard time finding it. In fact, this model was discontinued! We ended up finding an Ashley Furniture store that had just ONE floor model left but they did tell us another couple had shown interest in it too. You could say it was fate or our speedy driving, but we went to the store immediately and picked it up. We love having this in our nursery and the color goes so well with the rest of the nursery theme. We placed our glider under two hand painted pictures little L's Aunt Kellie made her - an Elephant and a Lion! They are the cutest additions to our Jungle Safari nursery theme.

For our finishing touches, we hung this rope wall shelf we found on Etsy and added a little greenery to it. This will be a great place for our daughter to add personal touches as she grows, but for now it houses our baby camera and a couple cute figurines.

We also found this baby mobile on Etsy and knew it would be perfect. It hangs centered over L's crib. We love how this ties into the overall Jungle Safari theme and how we were able to bring all these elements - monkey, giraffe, elephanet, etc - furhter into the room.
