Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here

Hi, I’m Emily! I am a true-crime loving, ramen slurping, fitness enthusiast with a serious case of wanderlust. I love listening to live music, spending time outdoors, good food and sour beers (the more pucker the better). As a pediatric physical therapist and a new mom I believe that in Life and Littles it is all about learning and growing. I strive everyday to grow as a woman, a wife, a mother, and a friend. I am a born and raised Ohioan who made the move to The Mitten in 2018 when my husband and I got engaged. We currently live in Kalamazoo with our son, Eli and our three cats Maximus, Mando and Millie. Yes, we are aware we are crazy cat people!

When Katie approached me about joining her on this journey I was very nervous. Putting yourself out there on the internet can be an intimidating venture; but I believe that working with children with special needs, and raising my own baby boy gives me a unique outlook on the world. I have worked very hard to find a balance between maintaining a sense of self, and being a Mom all while making time to get a work out in here or there, grab a few beers with friends and camping with my husband. If our site can help one person find some level of balance in their life than this will all be worth it.

Hi there! I'm Katie, a real-food obsessed, fitness lover with a firm belief that life is about balance and a heavy pour of wine. I'm a true morning person, I (annoyingly) find myself too funny and I’m convinced my blood is 90% coffee. After 9 years in Chicago, my husband and I made our way back to Kalamazoo, MI where we live with our little man, Rayland and our (dick of a) cat, Archer. Even though we are no longer living the city life, I still feel like I should be walking everywhere, I love a good beer garden and given the chance, I'd be at a live show every weekend.

I've been a blogger since 2015, when this site was launched as Personally Paleo. There I shared my love for running and a paleo lifestyle. Over the past couple years, I started to feel like I was outgrowing that site and over the past 6 months, I became sure of that. As beautiful an experience as it is, having a baby made me realize how easy it is to lose yourself in the role of being a mom/parent. My husband and I have always talked about how as much as we embrace the role of being parents, we want to embrace our own identities the same. Thus, the idea for inLifeandLittles was born. I approached Emily about joining forces on this project because I wanted not only for her expertise on pediatric physical therapy but also her expertise on a good sour beer ;). Parenting is hella hard and if you don't have friends you can lean on when you need advice or need to grab a drink – how are you supposed to stay sane? Through this site, we hope to give you some good advice, tips and tricks on the littles and a whole lot of inspiration on life.
